Trevenson 1st Win Semi Final (Arthur Pearce Cup)

Trevenson First 11 played Robartes FC at Illogan AFC (Oxland Park) in the Arthur Pearce Cup Semi Final last night.

What a game of football for both supporters, end to end stuff from both teams with chances at both ends...but no goals in normal time. The game went into extra time, with Robartes having the better of the first half, but still with no goals.

Trevenson came out fighting for the scecond half of extra time and had a goal saved off the line by one of their own players.

Game went to penalties, with the Trevenson Goal keeper facing  the first of five penalties, first penalty saved by the keeper, fans went crazy. Trevenson go to take their first one and the ball goes high and wide over the goal...score 0 - 0 after round one.

 Round Two: - Robartes take the penalty which the keeper could not save, 1 - 0 Robartes. Trevenson player steps up to take their second penalty, but ohhhh it goes high and wide yet again. Robartes now lead 1 - 0.

Round Three: - Robartes look to take their next penalty, but Trevenson Keeper saves this time, time for the fans to go crazy once more. Score still 1 - 0 to Robartes, Trevenson player steps up, yes it's in...score 1 - 1. (after three penalties)

Round Four: - Robartes player steps up to take this penalty, keeper in goal, saves the shot....but it's recalled to be taken again as the keeper moved off his line before the ball was kicked...... Robartes player goes to take the kick again, it beats the keeper but hits the post and comes back out for the keeper to pick up....score still 1 - 1. Trevenson player steps up, and blast the ball, no stopping it...in the back of the net 1 - 2 to Trevenson now.

Round Five: - Robartes player (Ex Trevenson) steps up to take the final kick, bang blast it into the top corner of the net.... 2- 2 all. Trevensons Centre back steps up, to take the final kick we hope for the team. Lots of pressure with this kick as the scores are at 2 all, and a final of the Artur Pearce Cup awaiting the winners. Bang the ball flys into the top left hand corner of the goal.....

Trevenson won the game 2 - 3 on penalties after extra time.

WELL DONE LADS and the management, here's wishing you the best of luck for the final on Sunday 2nd May.
