Wet and Windy at Oxland Park

06 December 2015

Illogan RBL 1 - 5 Trevenson Pythons Wet and windy at Oxland Park A very wintery day at Oxland Park and the return fixture of the season for these two weather hardy sides. Playing up the slope and against the wind, the Pythons were going to have their work cut out in the first half. The home side took the lead after a fine passing move and the ball was blasted past the stand in keeper Thomas. This appeared to stir the Pythons into life and after some quick thinking by Piran a short corner was taken to Luke, who drilled a lovely ball across to the goal machine Matthew, who rocketed the ball into the top of the net. Pushing on in search of more goals, Illogan old boy Liam, beat two defenders and calmly slotted past the keeper to make it 1-2. Ryley came on as sub and soon pounced to make the halftime score 1-3. The second half carried on as the first had finished and a cross from William was unlucky deflected into the net for an own goal. Illogan pushed on in pusuit of goals and left themselves short at the back and a move started by Harvey and involved Harrison, Luke and Brandon saw the ball slid through to Ryley for his second of the match. Final score 1-5 to the visitors. Special mention to stand-in keeper Thomas, didn't see much action on a horrible day, but volunteered for the job. Really shows what great team spirit the Pythons have this season. The end
