Trevenson Cobras too Strong for St Agnes

08 November 2015

On a wet and windy remberance day both sides kicked off in torrential rain and strong winds. Trevenson got the ball forward early and tested the St Agnes keeper who did well in the swirling wind. St Agnes went on the attack and soon tested Connor Tregidga in the Trevenson goal but he stood up strong to pull off a good save, Trevenson started to control the middle of the pitch with Torin Beckerlegg and Man Of The Match Tom Axon who played a great through ball to Cadan Watson who opened the scoring with a 25 yarder into the far corner. The weather was not getting any better and with both sides having to deal with a very testing pitch Trevenson again got an opportunity to double their lead and this was put away by Jordan Lawry who volleyed home from close quarters.

The second half started with the wind now being well and truly into the Trevenson Goal and St Agnes soon took advantage of this when a corner seemed to hang in the wind for ever and when the defence were not able to clear this St Agnes halved the lead when the ball squirmed between the post and the defender. St Agnes were now confident in their play and kept Trevenson out at their end with some good defending and good goalkeeping and were again kept at bay with some solid defending from Trevenson. Trevenson added to their lead when a free kick was played into the box and Adam Webber popped up to head it home. Both sides were now slipping and sliding all over the place and were glad to hear the full time whistle with a good win for the Trevenson Cobras who won 3 - 1 in horrific conditions.
